Framework Agreement in Usability and HFI

27 October 2022

The Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) and The Swedish Armed Forces has signed a framework agreement with Combitech regarding Usability and Human Factors Integration (HFI) for the acquisition of systems, services and equipment adapted to human needs. The work forms an important part of the efforts toward gender equality and to provide defence personnel better conditions for addressing their assignments.

The framework agreement will be available for use by FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces for expert support in operational development and production. FMV estimates the total requirement to be 40,000 hours during the contract period including the option period. The framework agreement period will run for two years with the option of an additional two years.

The agreement is a good addition to the framework system security agreements we have with FMV. It provides us with even better conditions to contribute to the operational capability of the Armed Forces. The field is especially interesting as it combines classical engineering disciplines with behavioural science and an understanding of how the Armed Forces must be able to use their equipment. It is an important, honourable assignment which demonstrates the strength in the broad range of skills that exists at Combitech.

Christian Martinsson, Head of Combitech’s Safety Unit.
