Combitech becoming stronger in product information – acquiring Tikab
Combitech is acquiring all operations at the technical information consulting firm Tikab, along with its more than 70 employees. Combitech will thus broaden its service portfolio and strengthen its position as the largest in Sweden when it comes to product information.
Combitech, an independent enterprise in the defence and security group Saab, has an expressed ambition to grow in the Nordic consulting market. With Tikab’s more than 70 employees at eight sites in Sweden, Combitech is continuing to grow with the acquisition of Tikab. Tikab produces and supplies technical product information for clients in the business and defence sectors
“Our strategy calls for growth in the Nordic countries and we are now further strengthening our capabilities as a digitalisation partner for our clients,” says Combitech’s CEO Hans Torin. “Working together, Tikab and Combitech gain a broader portfolio and the ability to take on larger client assignments.”
“As a part of Combitech, we’ll be able to grow and strengthen our client base through Combitech's market channels,” says Tikab’s CEO Kim Nilsson.
Combitech has experienced strong growth in recent years. Growth has been both organic and through acquisitions. In October of 2016, Combitech hired more than 300 engineers from Ericsson, and at the beginning of 2017, acquired majority ownership in the Norwegian cyber security company Watchcom. Combitech will now have more than 1,900 employees in the Nordic countries, of which 250 will work in product information.
Tikab is currently a part of Saab's Support and Services business area. Behind the change were the strong potential synergies with operations at Combitech. The change goes into effect on 1 February 2017, at which time Tikab will become a Combitech subsidiary.
