To me, it means that Combitech is based on a set of values and a direction that I feel I can stand for. Not only do I have great colleagues and get to work on super interesting projects, but I also feel involved in doing genuinely meaningful things. For example, securing the energy supply or driving the transition to higher levels of sustainability. These are things that mean a lot to many people, that really make an impact on society.

As I was approaching the end of my education, I felt that I wanted to work on things that are valuable to society. I entered cognitive science after working in home care, realizing how important it is that such services do not fall behind in the technological development. This sparked an interest in developing technology for societally important customers, just like Combitech does.

Meet Magnus, a long-time Combitecher who chose to take a few years off, only to come back. Magnus works in one of our research projects called Wara-PS, where he is a system architect.
This means a lot of things. For example, being trusted to spread technical know-how from the defense industry to other sectors and create really robust systems. It means that we are large enough to have significant expertise in certain areas critical to society, such as cyber security. And that we bring together actors from different segments of society, where we enable cooperation between municipalities, regions and the business community to strengthen total defense.

The notion of being a shaper is closely linked to my role. I work with Human Factors, which means putting people at the center of technology. How does technological development work with our human thinking, with how we learn and function as humans? I help to ensure that a people perspective is included in major development projects that also have a clear impact on society.
